You are eligible for sick pay if you meet the following criteria:
       
1. Opted in from the beginning, active for 1 month.                                      
2. Joined within 3 months, active for 1 months.
3. Active for 3 consecutive months, if previously opted out or did not enrol within the first 3 months.

Am I eligible for Enhanced Sick Pay?


From your portal homepage you can request your Enhanced Sick Pay under the ‘Check your Enhanced Sick Pay Eligibility’ section, from there the system will guide you through the process.

How do I make an Enhanced Sick Pay application?


For all cases a signed Doctor’s Note and any supporting evidence is sufficient, these must indicate the reason and duration of the absence. 

An exception to the above for any Mental Health related applications, you must submit a second referral from a qualified Mental Health Professional from a recognised medical organisation.

How do I check the status of my application?


Enhanced sick pay is not paid for the first 30 days of absence from work. Thereafter you will receive enhanced sick pay that will top up any other income (e.g. SSP or employer sick pay) to ensure you take home your average monthly salary at the end of each month. Any business with employees can sign up to Protect Financial online and If we are integrated with your payroll software you can sign up by connecting your account when signing up. 

Alternatively, you can sign up manually by uploading two Excel Spreadsheets of your employees when you are while navigating through the signing up process

The only company information we require is the company name and company address, this is purely for setting up your account.

        1. First name, last name and email address

How does the sign-up to Protect Financial via my Xero account work?

Protect Financial can only connect to your Payroll Software if we are integrated with them, if we are integrated, it will redirect you to your payroll provider which will then automatically allow us to gather the specific information required for the sign up process. 


How does Protect Financial connect to my payroll system?


Don’t worry, we have a very simple manual sign up process which only adds one extra step to the process. If you have any questions, you can contact us directly.

What if I don’t have an online accounting software?

Every month we require the latest payrun, this is uploaded in the format of a CSV/Excel Spreadsheet. 

What admin is required every month?


Uploading your payroll file is simple. You can use an Excel or csv file, the file needs to contain; first name, last name, email address, net pay, deductions, employee tax and gross pay for each employee.

Here’s a step-by-step guide

1) From the home screen, ‘ENHANCED SICK PAY ADMIN’ , on the INFO screen in the admin area click ‘UPLOAD PAYRUN’.

2) Once on the upload screen simply:

- Select the payment frequency for the file you are uploading; monthly, weekly or bi-weekly (if you only have one payment frequency, your screen will default to it).

- Type in the date of your payroll upload in the format DD/MM/YYYY

- Click the 'upload your pay run file' box and select your payroll file.

- Click to UPLOAD PAYSLIPS

3) If you are uploading multiple files for more than one payment frequency simply complete the process for each file.

How do I manually upload a payroll file?

You are invoiced in monthly arrears for all of the employees who are opted in to Protect Financial for the previous month.

At least 2 administrators are required, this is to ensure any authorization requests do not go to a single user. You can have an unlimited number of administrators.

You can add another company to your portfolio by setting up a new administrator using the same email address that you used on previous accounts. If you are having any issues, please contact us directly

You can add an administrator by going to the settings page upon your portal homepage, you can add more administrator(s) at the bottom of the page.

If you would like to remove an administrator, you have to refer to the User Tab in your portal homepage clicking their name and you will be given a choice to remove administrator or completely from the system.

The standard cut off date is the 15th of every month, you may change this to your preferred cut off date any time. This can be done by going to the Settings tab(not the settings in the top right) on the portal homepage.

Alongside this, we send an automated email on the 13th of every Month including a list of the employees that have opted in/out of the service.
